Abstract
To determine how the Great East Japan Earthquake affected environmental behavior, we conducted SLE(Significant Life Experiences) research among university students in Miyagi Prefecture. Using a time-series survey, a descriptive questionnaire was administered once each year from 2011 to 2019, asking about current environmental behavior and experiences that significantly influenced that behavior. 393 valid responses were analyzed by three raters, with the following results obtained. 1) For university students, the experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake became a SLE of "concerning with resources" and led to environmental behavior of "energy conservation." 2) The experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake became a highly influential SLE immediately after the earthquake, but its influence weakened year by year.
