Abstract

This study examines the determinants for the index of psychosomatic symptoms in workers based on panel data. Furthermore, the estimations were made by classifying responses into physical and psychological categories. The main findings of this study indicate that a flextime system affects women’s psychosomatic symptoms. Moreover, people whose jobs are centered on manual labor tend to experience more severe psychosomatic symptoms. Additionally, working for small businesses leads to milder psychosomatic symptoms, and working hours affect men’s psychological symptoms.
