Abstract

Recently, the additive manufacturing for metal has become popular. The complex shape is easily manufactured by the additive manufacturing. However, the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness of product by additive manufacturing is inferior to traditional process. The machining as post process is necessary. We focused on metal forming as one of post processes. Dimensional accuracy and surface roughness are improved by metal forming. In addition, it is expected the mechanical properties of product is improved by metal forming. In this study, the mechanical properties of a plate of aluminum alloy, which was rolled after additive manufacturing, was investigated. As the result, the microstructure of the plate was extremely fine. The fine microstructure was made finer after rolling. In addition, it was cleared that the plate had high strength and high ductility.
