Abstract

In Japan, transvaginal mesh surgery (Tension-free Vaginal Mesh (TVM)) is known to have few complications and good results, and is still performed at many institutions. Although the recurrence rate of TVM in Japan is reported to be low, it does occur in small numbers. In this case, 12 years after the anterior TVM +Trans-Obturator Tape (TOT) surgery, complete uterine prolapse and marked prolapse of the posterior vaginal wall (enterocele, rectocele) recurred, but the mesh was not affected and anterior vaginal wall stayed in normal position. We report a case in which we were able to perform total vaginal hysterectomy and total v total colpocleisis .
