Abstract

Mt. Zixishan was located in the southwest about 28 km of Chuxiong, Yunnan, China. The forests which existed there were the secondary forest where an artificial influence had been received. Temple and shrine forests in Mt. Zixishan was divided into three kinds of formation;
1. Evergreen broad-leaved forest: Castanopsis orthacantha, Machilus lomgipedicellata, etc.
2. Pinus yunnanensis forest: Pinus Yunnanensis, Pieris formosa, Rhododendron delavayi, etc.
3. Pinus armandi forest: Pinus armandi,Camellia forrestii, Epiphyte fern, etc.
Natural resousis in Mt. Zixishan area is rich in forest vegetation and diversity in species and still maintained by local villagers in traditional approaches (Food, medicinal plants, timber, fuel, etc.).
