A Flare of Methane Gas Extracted from Methane Hydrate-bearing Layers

Abstract

 In 2007/2008, Japan conducted the second onshore methane hydrate production tests at the Mallik site in Canada and succeeded in producing methane gas continuously for six days from methane hydrate-bearing layers using a depressurization method. The height of the flare stack is 18m.
