Abstract
The “IGU Kyoto Regional Conference 2013” is hosted by the National Committee of Japan for IGU of the Science Council of Japan, and will be held on August 4-9, 2013 at the Kyoto International Conference Center in Kyoto. More than 1,000 geographers are expected to attend from all over the world. The main theme of this conference is Traditional Wisdom and Modern Knowledge for the Earth's Future. Various programs are being prepared for academic discussions including plenary addresses, public lectures, commission and task-force sessions, general sessions, and exhibitions, as well as half-day and full-day scientific excursions, and international field trips.
