Evidences of Magnetospheric Cavity Pi2 Waves

Abstract

We demonstrate convincing new evidence that Pi 2 magnetic pulsations occur simultaneously in both the nightside and dayside hemispheres, especially at low latitudes. These results allude to the existence of a global cavity mode of Pi 2 pulsations in the inner magnetosphere. However, the direct coincidence between spacecraft-observed and groundbased global Pi2 events has not yet been sufficiently confirmed.
