Measurement of displacements on a large-scale slope has been often adopted in recent years to detect instability of the slope, while very few cases of the measurement of displacements on small-scale slope by GNSS have been reported. Measurements of displacements by RTK-GNSS and 2D displacement gauge on a slope of 10 m high under multi-step excavation were conducted to examine the adaptability of RTK-GNSS on the measurement of displacement. The behavior of displacement by RTK-GNSS was qualitatively same with that by the displacement gauge. Whereas the displacement showed slight increases and decreases in contrast with a smooth increase by the displacement gauge. And the increments of the displacements were smaller than those by the displacement gauges and the displacements stayed almost constant even just before the failure. These problems should be solved for adopting RTK-GNSS to the measurement of displacement on a small-scale slope.
