Foreword for the special issue on Geotechnical Engineering & Data Science

Abstract

This foreword was prepared for the special issue of the Japanese Geotechnical Journal entitled “Geotechnical Engineering & Data Science,” which contains papers selected from those submitted to the 64th JGS Symposium. It outlines recent trends in data science related to geotechnical engineering and also summarizes the organization of the symposium and the editorial process of this special issue.
