Reply to the discussion on “A simple method for evaluation of jointed rock slope stability using slide surface approximated by piecewise linear”

Abstract

One of the main topics of our paper is how to determine the shape of sliding surface approximately in jointed or crackly rock slope. In this discussion, a physical meaning of sliding analysis proposed in this paper is pointed out. This finding comes from the two different points of view that Fellenius method is adopted as a practical method to evaluate the slope stability for non-circular sliding surface analyses. Based on this standpoint, the problems will be solved when we revise the unsuitable technical terms to reasonable way.
