Abstract

  Seventy-seven taxa of mosses from recent collections made in Baja California are reported; 41 are new to the area and 7 have not been reported previously from Mexico. The latter are: Aloina aloides var. ambigua (BSG) Craig, Bryum miniatum Lesq., Isothecium spiculiferum (Mitt.) Ren. & Card., Orthotrichum tenellum Bruch ex Brid., Tortula californica Bartr., Tortula ruralis var. crinita De Not., and Zygodon viridissimus var. rupestris Lindb. ex C. J. Hartm. A total of 118 mosses is listed for Baja California with preliminary discussions concerning their geographical relationships.
