THE MOSSES REPORTED FROM NEW CALEDONIA

Abstract

  A systematic compilation to the references of the 40 families, 151 genera and 631 species and intraspecific taxa of mosses reported from New Caledonia, including the Loyalty Islands, is presented. Three new combinations are introduced: Calyptrochaeta marginata (Thér.) Pursell & Reese, Pyrrhobryum novae-caledoniae var. minus (Besch.) Pursell & Reese, and P. novae-caledoniae var. taoense (Thér). Pursell & Reese.
