Distribution and architectural characteristics of mandarin orange warehouses in Tsukumi City, Oita Prefecture, Japan

Abstract

The objective of this study is to clarify the distribution and the architectural characteristics of mandarin orange warehouses in Tsukumi City, Oita Prefecture, Japan. Field surveys of mandarin orange warehouses were conducted in Chinu, Nagame and Urashiro, Tsukumi City. We found the number of 303 mandarin orange warehouses in survey areas. Mainly, there were mandarin orange warehouses built of “Sanwa” in Chinu. Mainly, there were mandarin orange warehouses built of “Hai- ishi” in Nagame and Urashiro. 3 Types were selected as typical mandarin orange warehouses in survey areas.
