Abstract
Research on humans and the environment is usually conducted with a simplified model, but when studies include a
living environment, the problem becomes complicated, so it is necessary to carefully examine the variables to be considered.
It is also important to consider the problem setting employed in this specific type of research. Laboratory experiments alone
are not sufficient for studies on any human-living environment system that includes increased subject satisfaction and
comfort, and it is useful to use social survey methods and interview surveys. As variables to be considered in this research,
there are several important keywords, such as personality, inter-individual differences, intra-individual differences, embodied
cognition, emotions, and attention. Thus, for studies on living environments with a high level of consumer satisfaction and
comfort, we made a conscious effort to consider the pertinent issues.
