Abstract

In the field of the management organization, five phases of models of the Teal organization evolution by F. Larue attract attention. We investigated whether the evolution model of this new organization was applied in the organization of the nursing, and looked at two separate organization of hospital nurses and visiting nurses.
Investigation by WEB questionnaire on the expectations and current status using the 34 items of the Teal model was conducted, and 50 response data from hospital nurses and visiting nurses were analyzed. The result suggested that nursing organizations could evolve into a Teal organization by process of graded evolution from orange to green, and with the application of the characteristics of the 3 main foundations of organizing. The result further suggested, however, that the speed in which organizational evolution takes place is different between the two groups of nurses, and the areas of application also differ by types of work. We concluded that in nursing model, visiting nurse organizations are more adaptable and quicker to break through into a Teal organization, whereas the hospital nurse organization tended to be slower.
