Abstract
In this study, our purpose was to investigate the multigroup factorial invariance of the Japanese version of K6 using cross-sectional data from care workers and nurses. Data used for statistical analysis were extracted from a survey conducted by the authors in 2023 for the care worker data and a 2014 survey for the nurse data. We examined the multigroup factorial invariance of the Japanese version of K6 in a one-factor, second-order factor, and bifactor model. Through structural equation modeling, we imposed equality constraints on factor loadings, intercepts or thresholds, and residual variances in the three factor models. The results showed that only the one-factor model of the Japanese version of K6 has measurement invariance. This suggests that the Japanese version of K6 can be used to examine variations in mood/anxiety disorders among different occupational groups and their related factors.
