Abstract
To investigate the characteristics of SV wave propagation generated by dynamic penetration test, the field model tests were carried out. The total of nine accelerometers were set into the model ground. Those tests were performed at saturated and unsaturated silica sand, and with different type of driving methods. From the results, it is confirmed that the shear wave velocity is influenced by effective stress same as the result of tri-axial tests. In addition, it is revealed that the amplitude of SV wave has limitation in excess of some penetration amount.
