Abstract
I evaluated the disease severity according to "The acute rhinosinusitis medical treatment guidelines, 2010 version" treatment algorithm, and examined the effectiveness, safety and validity of this algorithm when I prescribed cefditoren pivoxil (CDTR-PI) to an adult rhinosinusitis patient with more than medium-grade symptoms. The scoring judgment for the "dosage end time" was the percent improvement, which was defined as the "complete response" + "existence effect". In a previous study, this was high at 100% (49/49 strains), and the disappearance rate of bacteria was 92.0% (46/50 strains). In the present case, there were no noticeable side effects. Based on these results, it appears that CDTR-PI is a suitable first-line drug for the treatment of adult rhinosinusitis patients with more than medium-grade symptoms. In addition, the validity of the adult treatment algorithm, "The acute rhinosinusitis medical treatment guidelines, 2010 version" was confirmed.
