We investigated changes in the perception of stuttering using an SD method, before and after viewing materials in lectures at a child care training school. We found a significant difference (p < 0.01) between the perceptions of stuttering among students before and after viewing in 14 items: " dark-bright", " hard-soft", "cold-warm", "passive-aggressive", "weak-strong", "gloomy-cheerful", "ugly-beautiful", "heavy-light", "inactive-active", "dislike-like", "bad-good", "unkind-kind", "violent-peaceful" and "sick-fun". On the other hand, we do not find a difference in "noisy-calm". The perceptions of stuttering among students changed from negative to positive, which indicates the effectiveness of the viewing materials in changing their perceptions of stuttering. As a future problem for this study, we suggest considering the contents of viewing materials and research methods.
