Abstract
In a case of soft palate cancer, 60 years-old male, a surgical management was deviced to prevent rhinolalia aperta caused by removal of the soft palate. A piece of bone taken from his own hip bone was transplanted into the retropharyngeal space immediately after the removal of the soft palate including cancer. The patient was discharged about ten days after the operation without any speech disturbance and nasal leakage of food. The surgical procedure and the speech results were presented in details.
