Abstract
Thirty-eight cases of sialothiasis were treated in our department during the six years from 1972 to 1978. Salivary calculi are generally known to occur most frequently in the submaxillary gland or duct, and less often in the parotid gland. We experienced 34 cases of the submaxillary gland and four of the parotid gland. There were no cases of the sublingual gland. Diagnosis can be formed from the patient's past history, by clinical examinations and by roentogenography.
The results of our present study are in close agreement with those of other available reports.
