Abstract
The effect of xylocaine intravenous injection on the subjective tinnitus was evaluated subjectively by questioning and objectively by the pitch match and loudness balance methods.
Xylocaine intravenous injection significantly decreased the loudness of the tinnitus but less affected on its frequency.
Objective evaluation of the changes of tinnitus after xylocaine administration well coincide with its subjective evaluations.
Based on these results, we proposed that pitch match and loudness balance methods are reliable evaluation of the tinnitus.
