Abstract
In the treatment of perennial rhinitis, with intranasal beclomethasone dipropionate(BDN) alone for one week, similar success rates were obtained as those previously reporled by us. Concomitant therapy with BDN and d-chlorpheniramine maleate (Polaramine) was markedly effective in patients who had responded poorly to the treatment with BDN alone in the previous week. The efficacy rate obtained by the concomitant therapy was almost equivalent to that obtained with a two week treatment with BDN inthe effective patients group. Thus, the concomitant therapy of BDN with Polaramine was recommended for the treatment of patients who failed to respond to the therapy with BDN alone. It may be advisable to use BDN and Polaramine concomitantly in all patients, but further study is required to confirm this regime.
