Abstract
1) In 1982 the total Japanese Cedar Pollen count was 3% higher than in 1979 which was the previous highest recorded level. 2) Combination therapy with intranasal beclomethasone dipropionate (ALDECIN) and Celestamine (betamethasone and d-chlorpheniramine maleate) proved significantly more effective in promptly relieving the nasal symptoms than ALDECIN alone. 3) Combination therapy with ALDECIN and Celestamine should be limited to a maximum of one week for safety reasons. If the symptoms are markedly improved by the combination therapy, Celestamine is suggested to be replaced with Polaramine (d-chlorphe niramine maleate). 4) The combination therapy of ALDECIN and Celestamine or Polar amine is recommended for the treatment of severe pollinosis and/or eye symptoms.
