Abstract
A case of infratemporal fossa abscess with cranial nerve palsy is reported. This 54-year-old man had complained of swelling and pain of the right cheek. Examinations revealed the presence of meningitis and palsies of the right cranial nerves III, IV, V1, VI and IX. Infratemporal fossa abscess was found by X-ray films and CT scan. It was drained by incision laterally through the right maxillary first molar, and antibiotics was administered. Signs of meningitis and cranial nerve palsy were gone in about 40 days.
