Abstract
Osteomas of the external auditory canal are rare neoplasms. They are most commonly found in the outer half of the ear canal, attached to the tympanosquamous or tympanomastoid suture line. Two cases of the osteoma of the external auditory canal were presented. The first case was a 32-year-old male with a bleeding left ear. An 8×8mm hard mass was attached to the tympanomastoid suture line. The mass was removed utilizing a postauricular approach. The second case was a 17-year-old female with a mass in the left ear canal. A 6×6mm hard mass was attached to the tympanosquamous suture line. The mass was removed via the external auditory canal. In both cases, histopathologic examination revealed osteoma. Other reports on osteoma of the external auditory canal were reviewed.
