Abstract
Statistical analysis of 216 cases of foreign body lodgement admitted to our ENT clinic from 1980 to 1984 was presented. These cases represented 1.6% of all out-patients seen during that five year period. The youngest patient was 6 months old and the oldest one was 81 years old. There were 73 male patients and 82 female patients. Sixty cases involved the external auditory canal. Most of them composed of worm such as cockroach. Fifty two cases involved fishbones in the oral cavity and pharynx. There were 34 cases involving the nasal cavity and 9 cases esophagus and stomach. No tracheobronchial foreign bodies were observed during this study.
