Abstract
Two cases of adult large cavernous hemangioma in the head and neck were reported. The first case involved a cavernous hemangioma in the left maxillary sinus, which was considerably difficult to diagnose. The second case involved a mesopharynx which was in danger of an air-way obstruction. The conventional radiographic examination, angiography and physical examination cannot satisfactorily reveal the extent and the hypervascularity of cavernous hemangiomas. Recent diagnostic imaging methods such as CT, MRI and blood pool scintiphotography offer important informations to surgeons. It is not always necessary to remove the tumor completely, but it is important to make a plan for surgical treatment before an operation, taking into consideration the extent of the tumor.
