Abstract
Fifty two patients with peripheral vestibular disorder were treated with the administration of 15mg per day of Vinpocetine for 4 weeks. This drug was effective for subjective symptoms such as vertigo, faintness and stiffness of the shoulder, etc. However, a correlation between the degree of canal paresis and the improvement of subjective symptoms was not found. In the vestibular testing, positional nystagmus disappeared in 63% of cases after the treatment. The improving courses of three effective cases were demonstrated by the results of the computerized rotatory chair system.
