Abstract
A 10-year-old boy had such a swollen tongue that he had difficulty in closing the mouth. The back of the tongue was rough and on its anterior edge multiple nodules of from rice grain to soyabean sizes were found. Histologically these nodules showed hyperplasia of the lymphatic canal of the submucous tissues and hyperkeratosis of the epithelium. By X-ray irradiation the swelling of the tongue decreased, but as the nodules increased in number and size, they were resected after irradiation.
