Physiological and pharmacological actions of the adrenocortical steroids, which are important basis for the therapeutic use of the steroids, are discussed. Emphasis was placed on the antiinflammatory and antiallergic actions which may be of special value in the use of the steroid in the field of otorhinolaryngology. Devise to avoid various side effects was also discussed.
