Abstract
Tissue of nasal polyp, caused on middle nasal meatus of human was studied under electron microscope and the following findings were made;
1) Epithelial layer;
Epithelial tissue contained following 3 epithelial cell groups.
i. Ciliated cylindrical epithelial cell having two central canaliculus and nine marginal canaliculus.
ii. Goblet cell in which the upper portion of the cell body was filled with flake-falling granules of low density.
iii. Pavement epithelial cell which did not have much construction in the cell body.
2) Tunica propria
i. Eosinocytes in which the cell body was filled with granules of high density was observed and the formation of central plate was not clear.
ii. In the stroma of tunica propria, well-developed collagen fibers were observed.
iii. Many plasma-ceils filled with small tuberositous follicules were observed.
iV. The tunica interna of blood vessels in the tunica propria generally showed high density and in the cell body, besides micro structures such as mitochondria and Golgiapparatus, filamentous structures were recognized.
