Abstract
Kitahara reported a recording method of momentary sways of the human head during righting reflex with an accelometer. By means of this method, the acceleration element of the head movement and the tilting angle of the plank, which was maintained horizontally by a subject standing on the plank, were registered. 16 normals and 20 cases with vestibular dysfunction were used in this experiment. The results of the tilting angle and the subjective horizontal level of the plank had no significant difference bitween the normals and the cases with vestibular dysfunction. The parameters obtained from the head movement were expected to reflect the vestibular function.
