Abstract
Bilateral tonsillar tumors are very rare. Lymphoepithelioma of both palatine tonsils was diagnosed in a 61-year-old male. The patient's complaints were hemosputum and cervical lymph node swelling. Histological examination of the palatine tonsils disclosed lymphoepitheliomas consisting of large immature anaplastic epithelial cells, associated with lymphoid cells. Clinical examination demonstrated bone and lung metastases. In spite of radiation therapy and chemotherapy, he died four months after treatment was started. To our knowledge, this is the first report of such a case.
