A Case of Huge Lipoma Originating in the Deep Lobe of the Parotid Gland

Abstract

We treated a patient suffering from a huge lipoma of the neck, which extended into the parapharyngeal space. CT scans and MRI were useful for the diagnosis and we extirpated the lipoma by incising the parotid gland. CT scans, MRI and operative findings showed that this was a case of a very rare lipoma originating in the deep lobe of the parotid gland.
