We report a rare case of laryngeal fibrosarcoma developing 6.5 years after laryngeal cancer radiotherapy.
A 70-year-old man undergoing radiotherapy at 66 Gy in 2001 then developed granuloma. Repeated biopsy found no lesional malignancy. Total laryngectomy was conducted in 2008. Postoperative pathology showed the lesion to be fibrosarcoma. The man eventually died of pulmonary and hepatic metastases.
We present the case with a review of the literature.
