Abstract

Registered cases of Ménière's Disease collected by the Committee members were studied and classified according to the age of onset and the duration of the disease. The influence of each factors on the vestibular symptoms and hearing impairment was analyzed. Next, the influence of these two factors on the hearing loss of the affected side was studied in 120 cases of definite Ménière's Disease.
The results of this study were as follows:
1) The hearing impairment of the affected side increased gradually with the age of onset and the duration of the disease.
2) The vestibular symptoms of Ménière's disease were not significantly affected by these two factors.
