Flow Cytometric Analysis of DNA Aneuploidy in Paraffin-Embedded Tissue in Head and Neck Cancer

Abstract

Investigations regarding the prognostic value of DNA content (aneuploidy) have been greatly facilitated by the application of flow cytometry using nuclei isolated from paraffinembedded tissue. We have applied this technique to head and neck tumors. Aneuploidy was found in 78% of cases. The method could be useful in retrospective studies.
