The therapeutic effects of L-V therapy for sudden deafness were examined between April 1990and March 1996. Seventeen of the 56 cases in which this therapy was used experienced “complete recovery”,9 cases had “marked recovery”,13 cases experienced “recovery” and 17 cases had “no change”. Marked hearing recovery was observed in those patients who began this therapy with in seven days from the onset of deafness. The degree of hearing loss at the beginning of the therapy bore almost no relation to the final therapeutic outcome. We had many cases which experienced “complete recovery” among those patients who had been treated with steroids. Therefore, L-V therapy was effective on cases of sudden deafness.
