The case of a 64-year-old man with squamous cell carcinoma after irradiation is reported. The patient had undergone resection of an adenocarcinoma of the ethmoidal sinus and irradiation (5400 rad) in 1973. Twenty years later, a squamous cell carcinoma was detected at the same site, and he underwent resection of the carcinoma and chemotherapy. This recurrent tumor appears to have been radiation-induced, because the patient received irradiation (5400 rad) at the precise location where the second cancer occurred 20 years later.
