Abstract
the Onoda power station, low grade coals with calorific value of4000kcal/kg have been used with anthracites in halves and many improvements havebeen made for the combustion of the coals. The results of mixed combustion of fineUbe Oha coal with () mine anthracite and heavy oil are shown and grinding, ignition, stationary combustion, combustion apparatuses, necessity of mixed combustion withheavy oil, ash treatments, etc are fully explained . Though there are many problemswhich must be improved, the combustion of low grade coals in a boiler for thermalpower succeeds fairly at present and it is concluded that low grade coals can be amplyused for thermal power.
