Abstract
y the words coal-and petrochemical industries have become very popular and when these are limited only to the production of raw materials for various chemical industries, these have possibilities of manufacturing the same products, but as different methods can be applied according to the properties of raw materials these are not contradicted to each other.
It is the most important to combine the coal-and petrochemical Industries with other industries, and this is clear from the examples of these industres already started . Techniques developed in petrochemical industry can easily be applied to coalchemical industry and the increase in demand pioneered by the former can call the development of latter. In this meaning, the developments of petrochemical industry at present is desirable for the future progress in the Japanese coalchemical industry from both technical and economical points of view.
