Abstract
A comparative study was carried out on the compositions of gases produced by coke oven on an industrial scale and with laboratory apparatus in connection with the progress of times in carbonizations.
The compositions of gases obtained from working New Otto type coke oven every hour were analysed by using Hempel gas analytical method. Also for larboratory apparatus, the as volumes and compositions produced in the carbonization temperatures of 600°C to 900°C were determined.By using an experimental formula through an appropriate assumption from the above comparison, it is considered that the gas compositions of the coke oven on an industrial scale may be estimated from the laboratory scale experiments.
