Abstract
The annual demand for LPG in Japan over a 6-year feriod rose from about 40, 000 tons in 1956 to about 700, 000 tons this year.Since the supplies from the domestic refineries can not meet this growing demand, imports from Middle East were started this year.To facilitate the idea for further development of the industry, here, advantages and disadvantages pertaining to utilization of LPG, with special emphasis placed on household uses which predominate the LPG market, due, to its properties and characteristics are outlined.
