Abstract

A process to prepare active carbon from lignite by fluidized gasification was developed.
In this paper laboratory investigations and their industrial procedures were described.
1.In order to separate the woody granular particles from lignite materials, physical and chemical methods were studied, for example the former are oil flotation, gravity separation and crushing, the latter acid washing and C12 gas treating.
2.In a commercial plant, the pretreating procedures mentioned above and their effects were outlined.
The operating data of a fluidized furnace and a purified apparatus were also detailed. It was confirmed that GeO2 was condensed in the flue ash of this furnace.
