Abstract
1. Concerning oil reserves in theUSSR, there do not appear to be any serious problems awaiting solution.
2. The gradual movement of the oil development center from Europe into Western Siberia is accompanied by the serious problems associated with difficult climatic and natural conditions which are causing some difficulties in enforcement of industry and the associated problems of arranging financing and the establishment of a permanent work force.
3. It is understood that the attainment of the target set for the 9 th Five Years Plan is certain to encounter extreme difficulties.
4. The necessity of supplying the satellite Socialistic States with petroleum is causing a gradual tightening of the supply and demand sitiation in the USSR.
5. The study of the USSR long range petroleum development program extending to 1990 has already been commenced.
