Abstract

Since the founding of the Republic China, a lot of coal mine has been constructed, and also innovations and reformations have been carried out in the existing major and minor coal mines.Through these great efforts the annual production have been raised.from 32.4 million tons in 1949 to 600 million tons in 1978, and ranked“the third”in the world.
In order to produce 1, 000 million tons in the coming decade, however, construction of new coal mines and modernization as well as rationalization of the operative mines have been remarkably promoted.And to attain this object, Japan has been asked to co-operate for the development of several mines.
In this paper, the geology and chemical-petrological nature of coals contained in such mines are commented, with brief notes on exploitation plan for respective mine.
