Abstract
Australian Wandoan coal liquefaction tests to confirm reaction behavior were carried out by 1 t/d process development unit. The test results agreed well with estimations obtained from previous basic studies.
(1) Contents of n-paraffins in the recycle solvent increased up to 20wt%, also conformable with the estimated value from batch autoclave studies.
(2) Oil yields were increased with the increase of the gas-slurry ratio (G/L), and it was clarified that the G/L effect was explainable by converting the G/L into the function of residence time.
(3) Product oil yield (b. p.350°C-fraction) from Wandoan coal liquefaction using iron catalyst is more than 50wt% on d.a.f. coal basis.
