Abstract
The recycling and effective use of waste materials are regarded as very important from a resources saving view point. The purpose of this study is to develop a waste oil combustion burner, which is able to atomize high-viscous waste oil using low energy and is able to reduce pollutant emissions. The internal mixing twin-fluid atomizer developed in this study mixed waste oil and atomizing air with a swirling flow in the mixing chamber. We investigated the effects of the kinematic viscosity of the liquid and the geo-metric shapes of the burner on spray characteristics. The results indicated that atomization of the high-viscous liquid jet was achieved with low energy of atomizing air.
